Company driver hijacked, kidnapped

Driver duped into believing something was wrong with his vehicle

A driver was hijacked in his company vehicle, a Toyota Hilux, on Atlas Road, Anderbolt recently.

The hijacking took place at 9.30pm when another vehicle with three male occupants indicated for the driver to stop as there was something wrong with his vehicle.

Boksburg North SAPS communications officer Capt Juanita Coetzer said when the man stopped and got out of his vehicle, one suspect approached him and started grabbing at him and forcing him into their vehicle.

They drove off with him to Meadowlands and along the way were stopped by police officers, who then rescued the driver from the situation.

The bakkie was also recovered.

Boksburg North Det W/O Vusi Tlemo investigated further and this led to two arrests.

“The suspects appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court,” Coetzer said.
