The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on a tip-off about an alleged drug dealer operating from his home in Vosloorus, arrested a male suspect and seized drugs at the residence at about 6:30am today (January 23).
The officers pounced on the residence in Chirundi Street, Extension 28, and found 20 small packs of nyaope, 18 packets of cat and nine mandrax tablets, totalling a value of about R6 000.
When read his rights before being handcuffed, the 26-year-old suspect resisted arrest and the metro police members were compelled to use appropriate force for the suspect to submit.

He was detained at Vosloorus Police Station on charges of possession of and dealing in illicit substances, as well as resisting arrest and is expected to appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court soon.
