Charities can benefit from in-store gift wrapping service

Boksburg charities can apply now to become a beneficiary of the Shoprite, Checkers and Checkers Hyper festive season gift-wrapping fund-raiser.

Every year the retailer group assists hundreds of non-profit organisations this way and has in the past raised more than R2-million with its in-store gift wrapping service.

Applying to become a beneficiary organisation is easy:

1. Complete the online application form before October 31.

2. Attach a copy of your South African ID or passport and NPO certificate.

3. Read the terms and conditions.

4. Wait for email confirmation regarding the status of your application.

For a small donation, starting from as little as R5, customers can take advantage of the in-store gift wrapping service at their local Shoprite, Checkers or Checkers Hyper store.

All proceeds are donated to the beneficiary organisation managing the service in a specific store.

Charities can also use the opportunity to get youth from their communities involved by having them man the gift-wrapping stand on the charity’s behalf.

Go to www.shopriteholdings.co.za for more information and to complete the registration form.
