Stinking mess in Boksburg North still not sorted

The Ekurhuleni metro will investigate the matter regarding a Boksburg North resident’s property that has been plagued by sewage spillage from neighbouring properties for more than two years.

“The metro will take action in accordance with the sanitation by-laws,” said Ekurhuleni metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe.

Last month, the Advertiser posted an article online under the headline: Boksburg North resident fed up with stinking mess.

According to the resident,Theunis Snyman, who lives in 5th Street, two properties in 6th Street have no proper toilet facilities which causes sewage to flow gradually through the supposed drain.

Snyman is fed up with the unhealthy state of affairs.

According to Gadebe, an attorney has been appointed to obtain a court order to interdict illegal activity on the adjoining properties.

“The corporate legal services department has co-ordinated a meeting to gather the necessary information to apply for a court order.”
