‘Angels’ are the icing on the cake on National Cupcake Day

The initiative raises awareness about childhood cancer and supports families in need of medical assistance.

Event co-ordinator Tanya Jeronimo said preparation for the day started months in advance with a donations drive, encouraging people to donate a cupcake in support of at least one child living with cancer.

“What a privilege it was to be part of this amazing day as the co-ordinator for the East Rand Mall event,” she said.

“We thank each and every baker, volunteer, company and individual who supported us. It is indeed a fact that being a Cupcake Angel is by far the sweetest way to save a life.”
