No joy in reporting water leak in Beyers Park

A resident had no luck in reporting a water leak on the corner of North Rand Road and Vrey Street, in Beyers Park, to the Ekurhuleni metro.

According to the complainant, he got cut off every time he phoned the Ekurhuleni metro call centre number, 0860 543 000.

When he forwarded an email to wscomplaints@ekurhuleni.gov.za the delivery failed.

The Advertiser also tried sending an email to this address and received a response which stated that the email address entered couldn’t be found.

The Advertiser visited the site on September 6 and noticed fresh water coming out of the ground.

The complainant said the water leak started small during the last week of August, but it got bigger.

“It’s ridiculous that we can’t get hold of the metro, but they’re quick to say the residents must save water,” he said.

The Advertiser contacted the metro, but has not received a response by the time of publication.
