Bennett, Easterns u-12s win district tournament
Local football starlet Duane Bennett added the recent 2017 Football District Tournament to his impressive resume when his side defeated the Easterns second team in the final in Germiston.
As a result, the Easterns first side will now head to Durban for a tournament scheduled to take place between October 5 and 8.
Bennett was also part of the Easterns U/10 and U/11 team, as vice captain, that won the Football District Tournament in 2015 and 2016 receptively.
This year he was the captain.

“I feel like I have achieved my goal because I was vice captain for two years in a row and this year I was captain,” enthused the Freeway Park Primary player.
“My team won the tournament so I’m very proud of myself and the team. My goal after being captain was to win the tournament and we did, so I thank God for that and everything else He had done for me.
“The team is working very hard to win the Durban tournament.”
Easterns played the likes of Randburg, Pretoria and Northerns on their way to the crown.
Bennet and his teammates were also awarded their Easterns team colours leading up to the tournament.
