Time running out for organisations to apply for municipal grants-in-aid

The Ekurhuleni metro reminds all interested and deserving enterprises to apply for municipal  grants (Grants-in-Aid), which is a fund established for community projects.

Applications forms are still available at all Customer Care Centers and should be submitted on or before  Tuesday, August 15 at the Grants-in-Aid-Administrative Support Office in the Germiston Civic Centre.

Proposals for financial support should be submitted for projects in sports, recreation, arts and culture;  social cohesion; local economic development; sustainable job creation and social development.

Applications forms should include the following documents:

  • Latest certified financial statement;
  • Business plan and budget estimate clearly indicating development programmes benefiting  the previously disadvantaged;
  • Copy of the latest municipal service account or a letter from the finance department reflecting  the municipal account debt status such as the payment arrangements to pay off the arrears.

According to metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe, these proposals will be adjudicated and the approved grant will be awarded from November 2017.

“Unsuccessful bidders will be notified in writing within three months after the adjudication process is  finalised,” said Gadebe.

The physical address to the Grants-in-Aid-Administrative Support Office is corner Cross and Roses Streets,  Germiston, 1400.
