Brakpan’s late surge quenches Boksburg’s blaze
Defending champion Brakpan scored 15 unanswered points in the second-half against Boksburg to surge to a 21-13 win at their Bosman Stadium on June 9.

Visitors, Boksburg, are surely hitting themselves wondering how they let the rare open chance of beating the champions, especially on their own turf, slip after leading 13-6 at the break.
Boksburg mercurial outside-centre, David Woolls, continued with his fine try-scoring form as he scored the visitors’ only try which PJ Beaukes complemented with a successful conversion.
Beaukes also slotted over two penalties but it wasn’t enough as Brakpan revenged the reverse fixture between these two sides at Prince George Park earlier in the season.
Asked whether it was a case of the hosts having a great second-half or his team having a torrid second-half, Owls captain Danie Schultz commented: “It was a bit of both. The guys were a bit over-eager; we tried too hard to get the win which made us lose focus.
“Brakpan came out stronger and more focussed in the second-half.”
The Owls next host East Rand United this Saturday in a must-win clash for both sides, and the skipper needs not to be made more aware of that fact.
“It’s a must-win situation for us so I trust we’ll pull through.” – @SabeloBoksburg
