St Dominic’s impress at Knight of Champions
St Dominic’s entertained and impressed on their turf during the Knight of Champions drum majorettes event on Saturday, April 22.
The St Dominic’s Saints junior team (primary school) finished second overall for small and large drill while their seniors (high school) claimed gold for both the small drill and large drill.
Large drill:
Both teams compete in the elite league.
Knight of Champions is the first large drill competition of the season and is dedicated to the late Norman Knight who was a Gauteng official.
The Saints head to Durban in July to compete in the South African Majorette and Cheerleading Association (SAMCA) Nationals.
The seniors are the defending elite league SA champions from 2015 and will defend their championship in Durban.
The school has paid tribute to the coaches of both teams, Alisha Venter and Jenna Lee van Niekerk, for the juniors and Allan Donaldson for the seniors.
