Bikers gather to support people of Sky Street

Amistad Bike Club hosted a charity event at The Zone on August 20, to raise funds for the children and adults of Sky Street and the Samaritaan Huis.

Donations contributed on the day were food parcels, clothes, toys and blankets.

Bianca Santana, organiser of the fund-raiser, said she was proud of the wonderful work done by the club members to raise money for the people of Sky Street.

“My inspiration came from a friend of mine who always donated food and toys over Christmas periods to the people of Sky Street,” she said.

“So I then decided to reach out to that community and do something. I also made sure that I invited the children and adults of Sky Street to come and spend the day with us.”

A dog show was staged by the metro to entertain the children, while various musicians also performed.

“We also thank other bike clubs – Ghost Riders, The Tribe, Fallen Warriors, Espri de Core, Bikers United, Dancing Stars and others for their support,” Santana said.
