Laerskool Baanbreker pupil heading to Columbia on behalf of the country

Laerskool Baanbreker pupil Braden Schutte (8) will be flying the multi-coloured South African flag in Colombia for the BMX World Championships.

Teaching children to cycle safely 

The Grade 3 learner leaves our shores on Thursday, May 19 and is scheduled to race on May 23.

Schutte, fondly known as Wacky, will be racing in the nine-year-olds class in his official South African colours shirt.

Schutte’s most recent accolades include:

Number one Germiston U-8 BMX club rider.

Gauteng BMX awarded first overall for 2015 season U-8 and receiving full Gauteng provincial colours.

Gauteng overall provincial champion Floating Trophy 2015, making him the youngest rider to win this award two times in a row.

Grand National inter province, awarded first place overall for season for U-8, receiving his national jersey.

Number one at South African Cycling BMX Championships SA one plate U-8.

Finished third at the UCI U-8 BMX All Africa Continental Championships Series in Harare, Zimbabwe.
