Chamber offers more services through Publicity Association
With the addition of the Publicity Association to the Boksburg Chamber of Business, businesses in the hospitality and tourism can now be promoted.
This is according to Derek Fox, president of the local chamber, who said the newly formed association will endeavour to also highlight what this region has to offer.
Beric Tempest, who deals with the hospitality and tourism portfolio of the Chamber, will be heading up the association, assisted by the Chamber’s general manager Esther van Zyl and public relations manager Rita Nel.
“Our offering includes but won’t be limited to hosting functions and events in Boksburg and in Ekurhuleni, while acting as a concierge booking and facilitation service for the tourism, travel and hospitality in the region,” said Fox.
“We will look at providing support for major events, through for example bus hire to stadia for rugby, soccer or cricket matches, along with special occasions and corporate events.”
He said the association is also looking at planning day tours to Soweto, Johannesburg, the Lion Park, Rhino & Lion Park, the Apartheid Museum, Sun City, the Pilansberg game park, along with extended tours to the Kruger Park.
“Already we have started with the waiter and hospitality staff training, which supports and complements the tourism industry.”
