Butterfly Foundation’s high tea spreads cancer awareness

The Butterfly Foundation hosted its first annual ladies' high tea recently, to increase cancer awareness.

The event, held in partnership with the the ATKV on March 19, at the Boksburg City Hall, was attended by more than 150 women from across the province.

The event also served as a social function for the women, and it has been described as ”a major success” by the attendees and the organisers.

The dressed to kill women spent most of the day listening to several guests speakers.

They also enjoyed a delicious meal, and the gifted marimba and drum players from Goedehoop Primary kept them entertained throughout the event.

One of the event organisers, Lydia Simon, thanked all those who came to support the initiative, and those who lent a helping hand by sponsoring some of the items that made the event a success.

The sponsors included supermarkets, Boksburg Rotary Club, a liquor store, a photographic outlet, an events company, local churches and several community members.
