Soldierboy secures first UFC win
Former EFC Africa middleweight champion, Garreth ‘Soldierboy’ McLellan, knocked out Bubba Bush for his first ever UFC victory in the opening bout of UFC Fight Night 76, in Dublin, Ireland.
With both fighters cancelling each other out in most parts of their three-round bout, McLellan found extra stamina in his tank to assume the ascendancy in the latter stages on Saturday, October 24.
The win arrived following a vicious combination of strikes to the defenseless American which forced the referee to step in with two seconds left of the final round.
The win, McLellan’s first in two attempts since making his UFC debut in April, improved the 33-year-old’s professional MMA record to 13-3.
Meanwhile, Bush fell to 8-3-1 and remained winless in two UFC attempts.
