Case of local missing woman: Arrest in India may hold clues
The case of the pregnant Boksburg woman - Kwebulana Nomvano - who was apparently kidnapped by drug dealers to act as a drug mule in Indonesia, has taken a new twist following an arrest in India.

According to a media report, Indian police have reportedly arrested a South African woman for being in possession of several packets of narcotics, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, in Hyderabad recently.
Phathela said the reportedly arrested South African woman could be Nomvano.
She had flown in from Dubai, and had reportedly claimed to be pregnant when she arrived at the airport.
Authorities reportedly became suspicious of the woman when they examined her passport and her travel patterns over the last week.
According to the report, she had recently been to Sao Paulo, Brazil, which is said to be a hub for cocaine smuggling.
The report further reported that after being searched it was found that the South African woman had concealed about 40 small packets of drugs in her abdomen and her genitals.
She was then taken to hospital, where she was given laxatives to flush the drugs from her body.
Speaking to the Advertiser, Kwebulana’s devastated mother, Princess Kwebulana, said the enduring mystery of her daughter’s whereabouts has thrown the family into an untold trauma.
“As of July 19, it has been difficult for us to fall asleep and even eat – it’s been very tough for all of us,” she said.
“We are concerned more about her life and the baby inside her, as she is expected to deliver this month (August); it’s very sad.
“We are all devastated. I can’t even put into words how sick this makes me feel.”
On Thursday afternoon, Princess was praying and still hoping they would be able to reunite with their daughter.
“I want my daughter back… dead or alive we want her back,” ‘she said.
The 27-year-old Nomvano, apparently mentally disturbed, of Ramaphosa disappeared from her home on July 19.
Investigators subsequently received information from an informer that Nomvano was last seen with two men described as black males.
However, they still believe that there are other significant witnesses who have not yet made contact with them.
Reiger Park SAPS spokesperson Sgt Mashudu Phathela, the two men were seen forcing Nomvano into a black BMW, with her hands and feet tied and a gag placed over her mouth.
This happened in the open veld between Elsburg and Ramaphosa, on the day Nomvano went missing.
According to Phathela, officers arrested a Zimbabwean man in Ramaphosa, on Friday, August 14, in connection with the abduction.
His name is known to the Advertiser and some residents of Ramaphosa. He had already made several court appearances in court on a kidnapping charge, and he has been denied bail.
His next court appearance is on October 5.
