Cindy rocks Platinum Millennium on return to competition

Local bikini bodybuilder Cindy Willemse made a return to the modelling scene at the Kempton Park Civic Centre, when she finished second in the Face of Xstyle IFBB Platinum Millennium competition, on Saturday, March 28.

The comely athlete competed in the round bikini and gym wear categories, before finishing as the runner-up behind Bloemfontein native Estie Brits, who will go on to represent the Xstyle brand for the next year.

Willemse was making her comeback to the stage, following an enforced lengthy lay-off due to dental abscess complications and immune system setbacks.

“I felt nervous, yet excited to be back on stage and I had a lot of fun,” she said.

“I need to compliment the event organiser Helena Calitz for a job well-done; approximately 198 athletes competed at the event, which is also a qualifier for the Arnold Classic, and the athletes were of high calibre.

“I’d also like to thank a couple of role players, including Jolene Levinson, from Tweaked, for helping me with preparations and stage presentation, Jack Lotter from STS Training, Christa Foxcroft from Missy F, my family and my boyfriend, Schalk Pienaar, for always being there,” said the 35-year-old.

Next in line for Willemse is the IFBB Novice meet, which will allow her to compete in events such as the Boksburg Classic and Miss SA Extreme.

Should she win, it would take her a step closer to the 2016 Arnold Classic South Africa. – @SabeloBoksburg
