BFC announces new season squads
The Boksburg Football Club has announced its first and reserve sides for the new soccer season.
The teams were announced following a three-week open training session at the Boksburg City Stadium, which included practice matches, as players in and around Boksburg hoped to impress coach Garth Cooley for spots.
Asked what to expect from the team this season, Cooley said: “We’re looking to obviously select the best players who will represent the team at the highest level.
“I want the first side to lead by example; young aspiring soccer players must be able to look up to these guys and say, ‘One day, I want to play for BFC at the highest level’,” said Cooley.
The club will compete in the Eastern Local Football Association League (ELFA), with the first side competing in the Premier League and the second side in the Division One League.
Season fixtures have yet to be released.
