
* Kenneth Mbhele (30), from Vosloorus, appeared in court on charges of house break-in with the intent to steal.
He pleaded not-guilty on May 13, was found guilty and sentenced on September 8, to 18 months imprisonment for house break-in.
On April 12, the accused broke into the home of Patricia Motha and stole R2 000 cash, a water boiler, five cellphones, a tea set and curtains.
He had a previous conviction of theft from February 2012.
Magistrate Jurg Viviers presided over the matter, and Themba Maluleke appeared on behalf of the State.
* Harold Mazibuko (34), from Vosloorus, appeared in court on a charge of house break-in with the intent to steal.
He pleaded not guilty, was found guilty and sentenced on September 9, to three years imprisonment.
On July 14, the accused broke into the home of Johannes Ndbele and stole eight cellphones, soccer tickets and whiskey, to the value of R12 000.
He had previous convictions of house break-in from July 1993, theft from October 1996, robbery and possession of an unlicenced firearm from January 2003, and theft from November 2012.
Magistrate Jurg Viviers presided over the matter, and Themba Maluleke appeared on behalf of the State.
* Linda Buthelezi (40), from Vosloorus, appeared in court on a charge of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He pleaded guilty, was found guilty and sentenced on September 10 to five years imprisonment suspended for five years.
On December 14, 2013, the accused assaulted Sthimbiso Ndwandwe by hitting him over the head with a wooden stick.
