Donate blankets and teddy’s for the kiddies
The winter season can be very unfriendly to little children who don’t have blankets.
With this in mind, Sharl Barnard has started a blanket and teddy drive in partnership with Dros in Sunward Park.
“I just thought we could do something for the kids while it’s still winter,” says Barnard.
Barnard says the idea just hit him randomly and all goods collected will be donated to an orphanage in Boksburg.
He says Dros was an obvious partner of choice.
“It has a lot of people coming in and out, and was a suitable location to place our bin for drop-offs,” he adds.
Barnard appeals to community members to go out to Dros and drop off teddy’s and blankets, which will be donated to an orphanage in Boksburg next week Friday, July 11.
He hopes to make the drive an annual initiative.
