MRR celebrates 120 years
The law firm of Malherbe Rigg & Ranwell (MRR), in Boksburg, is celebrating 120 years of existence this year.
According to the five directors — Jeff Matthee, Brian Macgregor, Antoinette Swanepoel, Darian Nolan and Dino Montepara — the history of the firm is difficult to distinguish from that of the early century mining town, which went on to become the city of Boksburg.
Boksburg was the firm’s first home and this bond has remained intact throughout its 120 years of existence.
The city grew up from the dusty, robust, pioneering days of Paul Kruger’s Transvaal Republic, to the bustling metropolis of the modern day city.
The firm has guided Boksburg in its legal matters during this period and, in fact, was the first ever business opened in the town.
Now, 12 decades later, MRR still has a significant and substantial footprint in the town of Boksburg and has expanded its horizons to the whole of the East Rand.
The firm has been voted the Top Legal Firm in Ekurhuleni since 2006, and currently holds a PMR Africa Diamond Arrow award for outstanding legal practice.
