Ward 23 Clr Andrè du Plessis, have previously expressed his concern about the quality control regarding the workmanship of the contractor that repaired these potholes in the past.
“I realise that the recent rains have exacerbated the pothole problems throughout Ekurhuleni, but this Brentwood Park Road is an extremely dangerous road,” said du Plessis.
There is alleged that some of the potholes are as large as one square metre and approximately 10cm to 15cm deep.
This creates serious traffic hazards and danger to motorists, cyclists and motorcyclists.
According to du Plessis, metro road workers were working on the road on Sunday, March 16, but the job isn’t done yet.
Metro acting spokesperson Themba Gadebe, says the appointed engineer is busy with a design for Brentwood Park Road.
“An instruction will be issued to the contractor to reconstruct the affected section of the road before the end of April. The potholes have, however, been attended to patched up.”
