What’s next for JP Kruger?

Amid his EFC Africa middleweight title match loss to champion, Garreth “Soldierboy” Mclellan, JP “Tinkerbell” Kruger has vowed to come back stronger.

The Boksburg MMA fighter succumbed to McLellan’s rear-naked choke, a mere 3.05 minutes into round one in their main event at the Coca-Cola Dome last month.

The loss was Kruger’s first, tainting his then perfect fight record of 5-0.

“At this level of competing the one who makes the first mistake will pay for it,” said Kruger, when asked about the loss to McLellan.

“I gave him my back and paid for it…I’ll train harder and come back faster, stronger and more experienced.”

Asked about how he plans on getting back into contention for the title, Kruger responded: “I’m going for it. I have to work my way up again and I’ll be back in the cage soon.

“I’m going to go out strong and win some fights,” vowed the 26-year-old.

Kruger’s next fight is yet to be announced.

EFC 29 returns to Carnival City’s Big Top Arena on Thursday, May 1.
