Four die in accident
Four people were declared dead on scene after a taxi, in which they were travelling, collided with a truck on Rondebult Road near Windmill Park on March 20.
William Ntladi, spokesperson for the Disaster and Emergency Management Services, says that 13 other passengers from the taxi were transported to different hospitals with critical and serious injuries respectively.
“One other patient was airlifted to Johannesburg Hospital as a result of injuries sustained to their head.”
He adds that emergency services responded to the call and used heavy duty hydraulic rescue tools to free the injured from the wreckage.
The cause of the accident is still undetermined.
He says that the road was closed off and motorists had to use alternative routes.
