According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, the incident occurred at around 7am.
“The manager was busy opening the store when four men approached him from behind and held a gun to him,” says Lieut Coetzer.
She adds that a shot went off and the man was hit in the head.
“He was transported in critical condition, via helicopter, to the Union Hospital.”
No arrests have been made.
