
Jacobs, who was a community patroller, died on the scene after he sustained a gunshot wound to his face.
This follows an alleged argument with the shooter.
Apparently, when Jacobs arrived at the scene, he found the gunman fighting with other people and he tried to stop the fight.
According to the police, the pair had a verbal argument. He was killed a few metres from his parents’ house along Goedehoop Street.
The police say the surrounding area, including the nearby residential area, would have been busy with people enjoying their Saturday night, and detectives are eager to speak with anyone who witnessed the shooting.
