Vusi Mabanga, spokesperson for the EMPD, says that 28 accidents occurred in Boksburg during this time.
“Luckily none of these were fatal accidents and resulted in damages only,” he says.
Mabanga adds that during the past week the EMPD issued 81 fines to motorists for driving without their driver’s licences.
A further 28 fines were issued for registration and licensing contraventions, and four fines for disregarding stop signs.
“Some 33 motorists were fined for moving violations,” he says.
Mabanga adds that 19 fines were issued for motorists driving without their Public Driving Permits, 22 fines for seat belts not being worn, 17 for driving while using a cellphone and 12 for licence plates not being present.
