Connection to street light not illegal

With the recent issue of load-shedding affecting many South Africans, electricity has become a very sensitive topic.

A resident was driving through Plantation recently and observed electrical cables attached to a street light.

Concerned, she reported the incident to the Advertiser, assuming it was an illegal connection for electricity theft.

Acting spokesperson Themba Gadebe says municipality is aware of this connection.

“There is a temporary connection because of a cable fault,” explains Gadebe.
