Walking in the rain for Jesus

The rain and dreary weather did not stop members of different churches from taking part in the Walk for Jesus on Sunday, March 2.

The 2km walk started at Laerskool Concordia on Rietfontein Road to East Rand Mall and ended back at the school.

According to the organiser, Ronel Knipe, the Walk for Jesus began nearly four years ago, and this year marks the 12th walk.

“The event is all about being visible for Jesus and it also unites us as children of God as we claim territory for Him walking together in light and truth,” she says.

Ronel says it is a powerful movement both physically as well as spiritually.

“We also hand out small Bibles to bystanders during the walk. We do not stand as a certain religion or for a specific church – we walk for Jesus,” she explains.

The next walk will take place on Sunday, September 28 at 12pm from Laerskool Concordia.
