Boksburg Rugby Club completes successful rugby day
The Boksburg Rugby Club won three of their four matches at the Delmas Rugby Day on Saturday, February 22.
The friendly tournament, which was hosted by the Delmas Rugby Club, saw over 40 teams from various clubs competing, with Boksburg’s u-19, 21 and third team all winning.
The u-19s beat Pretoria’s Harlequins 5-3 in a low-scoring affair with the u-21 and third team winning 44-12 and 53-12 against Johannesburg Police, respectively.
The club’s second side fell short of completing a Boksburg whitewash when they lost 19-10 to Witbank’s Ferro first team.
Club chairman, Sean Scheepers, hailed the tournament.
“The Boksburg Rugby Club would like to thank the Delmas Rugby Club for hosting a wonderful rugby festival. It was well organised and very festive,” said Scheepers.
