Church shows gratitude to those in uniform

The executive board of Enon Family Church has decided to honour men and women in uniform, by dedicating one Sunday per quarter to host a formal church service, to thank them for their dedication and unselfish services rendered to the community.

The first service was hosted on Sunday, February 23, and was dedicated to the Ekurhuleni Emergency Services, Emergency Services Chaplaincy SA, and members of the Moths and SA Legion.

ENON also handed awards over to the members of the EMS that was part of the international rescue team that went to Philippines and assisted them during the typhoon honour disaster, which killed over 6 000 people, that took place in November last year.

Team members were Eric Bothma, Ben Bothma, David Tshabalala, William Ntladi, Colin van Niekerk, Chris Smit, Thomas Zulu and Gerald Moswathupa.

The next special uniform services will be on June 8 (dedicated to SAPS and Department of Correctional Services).

The church is situated on the corner of Mimosa and Milkwood streets in Van Dyk Park.
