AWT artist to exhibit their work
An art exhibition of the work by Artists Working Together (AWT) Artists' Association, will be hosted at Hecker Nursery from Monday, February 24, until Sunday, March 2.

Doors are open from 9am until 5pm.
This association was formed in 2007 to provide opportunities for local East Rand artists to exhibit and sell their work.
The art exhibition has been hosted for the past seven-and-a-half years, but it will be the first time to be held in the hall at Hecker Nursery.
Local artists from the East Rand will exhibit their artwork.
According to AWT secretary, Jenny Bayley, there will be something for everyone.
“People are different and, therefore, artists make different types of art,” Bayley says.
People are welcome to just enjoy looking at the art, or they can buy something they are interested in.
Entrance to the art exhibition is free of charge.
Any artist who wishes to exhibit his/her work, is welcome to join the association.
“We have a joining fee and a yearly membership which are used to build and maintain things like exhibition stands and lighting, and charge a hanging fee for exhibitions which goes towards posters, transport and security,” Bayley says.
All exhibits have to pass a selection panel, but there is no restriction on the style, media or subject matter, only on the quality, which maintains a high standard of work.
For further enquiries, contact Bayley on 011 849 5004 or 082 441 8130, or chairlady, Larry Mervitz on 011 425 5481 or 083 398 9539.
