Alleged brothel fire investigated

The suspect responsible for causing the fire at the alleged drug and prostitution house on 103 Cason Road that burnt down on Friday, February 14, is on the loose.

It is alleged that the house owner died two years ago and the house is now being used by drug peddlers, prostitutes and illegal immigrants.

According to a resident who requested to remain anonymous, for fear of being evicted, the fire was started by a woman following a dispute with a male resident.

Boksburg SAPS spokesperson Lieut Mathanda Ngobese says the female suspect has been identified.

“Police are looking for the suspect known only as ‘Joy’, and her friend who have since not been seen at the house,” says Ngobese.

Investigation is still underway.
