Book Review: Diary of a Wimpy Kid – Hard Luck

Reviewer: Leandi Cameron. Publisher: Penguin Books. Age: nine years plus. Author: Jeff Kinney

The adorable character Greg Heffley and his absurdly funny family and friends are back in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck.

This is the latest instalment in the number-one best selling series by Jeff Kinney, and one of the most anticipated children’s books to hit the shelves.

A global phenomenon, the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series has more than 85-million books in print around the world.

This time around, Greg Heffley’s on a losing streak.

His best friend, Rowley Jefferson, has ditched him, and finding new friends in middle school is proving to be a tough task. To change his fortunes, Greg decides to take a leap of faith and turn his decisions over to chance.

Will a roll of the dice turn things around, or is Greg’s life destined to be just another hard-luck story?

I am too old for these books, but my goodness, they make me laugh so hard I want to cry.

These books are truly an inspiring series to keep kids entertained for hours.

This series keeps children globally entertained (and their parents too), but sadly, there is a rumour that this will be the last in the series – say it isn’t so!
