Game review: Le Tour de France 2013 100th Edition

Reviewer: Leandi Cameron. Console: PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Age restriction: None. Review: Cycling, really?

Every year the creator of Tour de France, Cyanide Studio, brings out a new edition for cycling simulations.

Now, it has decided to bring out a Tour de France version for the console players: Le Tour de France 2013 100th Edition.

With this, the team decided to allow the player to experience all the emotions the cyclists feel on the “Grande Boucle”.

The 2013 version proposes a much richer visually complete game, with a dynamic game speed and fully-revised gameplay. However, even though this was done to Cyanide’s best, this game lacked the punch they expected it to provide.

You can adopt optimum strategy for your team’s strengths and weaknesses, take note of objectives set by your manager and select the rider of your choice for each stage. You are also able to take control of another rider and change who you are!

It’s probably best to take lessons from the cycling coach for this game, or you will end up finding it boring and completely lacking any action.

The manager is your tutorial, which will explain all the subtleties of pro cycling and allows you to understand race tactics and how to use them.

Let’s be serious guys, most of us gamers aren’t exactly the biggest athletes in the world, but, without using the manager tutorial, this game won’t get you to cycle either – actually, it won’t get you to cycle at all.

I found the game extremely dull and boring.

If you want a game filled with action, this one isn’t for you.
