Five learners arrested for drug dealing and possession
Five learners from Oos Rand Secondary have been arrested for drug-related crimes on Wednesday morning, January 22.
According to the police, school patrollers found four learners, two of them aged 13 and the others 14, in possession of dagga.
Following further investigations, it was discovered that they bought the dagga from a 19-year-old learner, whom they say run his illegal business from the school toilets.
The police subsequently found dagga in the suspected 19-year-old dealer’s possession.
The alleged dealer also led the police to the nearby mine dump, where he hides his dagga.
More dagga was found hidden under a steel pipe.
It is unclear whether the learner is working for a drug dealer or not.
The 19-year-old learner was charged with dealing in drugs and the others were charged with possession of drugs.
All suspects appeared in court on Thursday, January 23.
