The defeat comes after a convincing 93-run win against Actonville Spurs in their first match of the second half of the season for the homeside, who succumbed to a 59-run loss at the hands of Springs.
Top-order batsman, Nicholas Lockyer, who was the hero of the day for his team in the Actonville encounter, having scored 47 runs, could not repeat his exploits in those innings as he got dismissed without scoring.
His fellow top-order batsman, Wesley Coulenthianos scored 22, with teammate Jan Janse van Rensburg hitting 25, but it was not enough for CBC who were subsequently bowled out for 94 in 29.1 overs.
Springs, who won the toss and elected to bat, had a shaky start to their 43.5-over innings with their top-order of Jarred Jame (8), Dalton and Dylan Smalberger (1) and Chris de Freitas (8) only managing 17 runs between them.
Wichus Germuishuizen initiated the steadying to the slide with 29, before an additional 40 between George Viviers (24) and Johrathon Wooley (16) put the visitors well on track to overhaul the homeside’s 95-run target.
Springs captain, Warren Wooley chirped in with seven with tail-ender Jose van den Berg’s impressive innings of 42 runs ensuring a strong finish for the visitors.
CBC’s Craig Parker was the stand-out bowler of the day with numbers of 3/33, with Springs’ Jose’s unsurpassed 42 making him the best batter of the day.
