The 18-year-old leaner was arrested during a police search operation, on Monday, January 20.
He was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and was due to appear in court on Tuesday.
On the same day, police also visited Reiger Park Secondary School, where they searched toilets and eight classrooms.
No dangerous weapons were found.
