Bowlers raise funds for Cansa
The Boksburg Bowling Club held a fundraiser for the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa), which saw two teams categorised as “bowlers” and “non-bowlers” cancel each other out recently.
Various players from in and around the East Rand assembled at the club for the initiative, and each payed a participating fee of R75, all of which will went to Cansa.
“It’s a very good idea, we got players from all over to do it for Cansa,” says the club’s chairperson, Mary Harwood.
Other Cansa fundraisers include the Relay for Life event and Movember, which takes place every November.
