Gauteng East Tennis hosts seniors tournament
The Gauteng East Tennis Association, in association with Tennis SA, have launched the new year by hosting the Gauteng East Seniors Tournament over the last two weekends of January.
The tournament will be held at three different venues and will see over 220 players vying for top spot.
The host venues are Benoni Tennis Centre, Parkrand Tennis Complex and Sunward Park Tennis Club.
Age groups covered range from 30+ to 70+ in both the male and female draws.
The tournament is one of the largest on the Tennis South Africa calendar.
Newly appointed chairman for Gauteng East Seniors, Owen O’Neill, said he was looking forward to developing the game and tournament into the largest provincial tournament in the country, and is hoping to attract the top players from the area (Gauteng East) to represent their province in the inter-provincial tournaments held annually nationwide.
