Pedestrian injured in accident

According to Luyanda Majija, spokesperson for ER24, on arrival paramedics found a man in his late 30s lying in the road, bystanders advised paramedics that the man was struck whilst attempting to cross the road.

“Paramedics immediately assessed the man and found that he was in critical condition having suffered a severe head injury.

“Advanced Life Support intervention was required to keep the pedestrian alive where he was placed on a manual ventilator before being transported to Tambo Memorial Hospital for further care,” says Majija.

The driver of the bakkie was left uninjured. Details of the incident will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
