A leadership camp for young women

Re-Imagine Reiger Park sent 20 young women from Reiger Park to a five-day Future Leaders camp, which took place from December 8.

The camp focuses on the empowerment and development of young women while they are still in their secondary and early tertiary stages of development.

The programme was implemented by Ann Naicker, who is committed to the social development of communities, girls and women in particular.

The camp was first piloted seven years ago, and was held this year in partnership with the Business Professional Women’s Network (BPW).

The women, aged between 15 and 18 years, are from different schools around Reiger Park. They were sent to be mentored, encouraged and trained on a variety of leadership skills.

Some of the topics the women engage in during the workshop are being beautiful, discovering yourself, financial fitness, entrepreneurship and managing your career.
