It, however, took 24 hours of water wastage before the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) attended to the problem.

This was confirmed by EMM spokesperson Sam Modiba, who says the burst water pipe was fixed on November 14.

Elsie Myburg, another resident whose pavement is alleged to be where the water pipe had burst, said she called Ekurhuleni metro to report the matter to no avail.
