World Aids Day Half Marathon to be held on December 1

Ekurhuleni, in association with the Soul City Sports Club, will be hosting the World Aids Day Half Marathon at the Katlehong Sports Complex on Sunday, December 1.

The marathon will include the 5km and a 10km road races.

Entry forms are available at all Central Gauteng races and at metro’s Sport and Recreation office at the Germiston Stadium.

The races are aimed at encouraging participants and communities alike, to unite in the fight against HIV/Aids and to show support for those who have died and suffering from the virus.

Another objective for the event is to create awareness about the dangers of unprotected sex and having multiple partners.

Various non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the field of HIV/Aids have confirmed their participation, and will distribute educational information as well as provide counselling services at the race venue.

Online entries can be made on the following websites: www.entrytime.com or www.sa-active.co.za.
