Members of the Sabre Tooth Kickboxing and MMA Academy took part in the Great North 3 Tournament at Wits University on Saturday, October 5.

The tournament saw five members from the academy take part and win five medals in total, split into three gold, one silver and one bronze.

Michael Bezuidenhout was involved in both the Semi and Light divisions, winning both his bouts via points decision.

A TKO 2 decision handed Frans Smit his gold in a K-1 fight.

Sensei Warren McCrindle fought in the Full Contact Kickboxing division in a fight that went the full three rounds. McCrindle was on the wrong end of the points decision to earn a silver medal.

Cliff Leeson won bronze for Continuous Fighting with Dian Nelson losing both Semi and Light bouts he was involved in on points.
