Support Kidz Clinics’ Christmas parties

It’s that time of the year again when Women and Men Against Child Abuse (WMACA) looks for support and assistance in hosting its annual Christmas parties.

These parties cater for more than 300 children at each of its Kidz Clinics in Boksburg, Duduza, Alexandra and Pretoria between November 20 and the December 4.

The parties are festive with magicians, dancers, jumping castles and gifts handed out by Father Christmas.

Each child gets a healthy lunch too, as well as fruit juices and party treats.

“All the children have endured either physical or sexual abuse, and have been provided with free medical and therapeutic treatments at our Kidz Clinics,” says Germaine Vogel, WMACA spokesperson.

She adds that they see how much the parties, gifts and activities mean to the children attending their parties, and more importantly, they see that many people care for them.

WMACA is struggling this year to secure the generous support for their Christmas parties, which they have been so lucky to receive over the years, and they are appealing to the public and or businesses and corporations, to donate new presents and to assist them in providing entertainment and refreshments.

Children assisted at the Kidz Clinics are generally aged between three and 16, of which the majority are girls.

Toys, games and educational toys would be welcomed for the younger children, and books, cosmetics and accessories would be nice for the teens and “tweens”.

Donations can be dropped off at WMACA’s head office o at 6 June Avenue, Bordeaux, Randburg, by November 20.

There is also a great need for members of the public – or corporate groups – to volunteer their time, either in gift collection or wrapping, transport, or assisting at the parties.

Other donations such as gift packets, wrapping paper, and sponsorship of cool drinks or snacks for the parties, will also be well-received.

Corporate sponsors are welcome to put branding up or hand out branded gift items.
