Mvelase says hijackings and burglaries at residences in Dawn Park are rife.
“We appeal to community members to be vigilant when driving towards their residence. Keep your eyes open and if you see suspicious characters, drive past your home,” she advises.
She also appeals to community members not to allow strangers into their homes.
The following arrests were made at the Dawn Park police station, from Friday, October 4 to Monday, October 7:
n. Two men arrested for armed robbery, after robbing a man of his shoes and cellphone at gunpoint. The firearm was not recovered, but a knife was found.
*. One suspect was arrested for robbery with a weapon. The suspect used the knife to threaten the victim and take his money.
* A man was arrested for selling liquor without a license.
