Griffiths shines at WPF SA Championships

Christy Griffiths from Boksburg won the World Physique Federation (WPF) title at the WPF South African Championships, which was held at Gold Reef City's Lyric Theatre on Saturday, September 28.

Griffiths came out on top in a line-up, which included 20 other of SA’s best bikini bodybuilding models – eclipsing Cat Buys Rademeyer (also from Boksburg) in the process.

“This achievement has been such an accomplishment for myself,” said the 21-year-old.

“All the hours in the gym and dieting has paid off and all my sacrifices were worth the sweat and tears.”

Her basic diet, which changes every two weeks before competition, includes six egg whites, oats, fruit, avocado, green salad, rice cakes and broccoli just to name a few.

She complements it with drinking three litres of water daily.

Griffiths says her latest achievement has surpassed her personal expectations: “My main goal when I started was to compete in the nationals, but I never thought I would be able to say that I would win such a prestigious title.

“I have accomplished my goal, now I am aiming and pushing for new goals,” she beamed.

Some of her other goals is to stand on an international stage, become an ambassador for a nutrition company and receive a Pro Card.

Griffiths joined the fitness industry in late 2012, and has participated in numerous competitions.
