Conference seeks to restore the honour of men
East Rand men are invited to attend the Men of Honour Conference that will take place at the Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre on October 12.
Guest speakers on the day will include Dr Raleigh Washinton from the US, Pastor Colin LaFoy, Ezra Ndwandwe, Bishop Freddie Edwards and others.
Pastor Ernest Hlophe, the organiser of the event, says the conference is aimed at getting boys and men together in one space to discuss the role of the man in his family, in business, in politics and with God.
“Everyday in the media we are confronted by news of horrid circumstances like rape, murder and corruption and in almost every instance, a man is involved,” says Hlophe.
“Women don’t feel safe with us anymore, be it a father, an uncle, a brother or next door neighbour.”
He says the event is an initiative to get men talking about the challenges they face in life and perhaps be encouraged or influenced in a positive manner.
Boys and men of all ages and races are invited to join in the conference and be counted.
