A dance to welcome Spring
About 80 people attended the Strelitzia Spring Dance on Saturday night, September 7.
The event was held for the elderly, but the dancefloor saw even toddlers doing the slow dance.
According to the centre manager Rika Crous, the dance was held as part of their fundraising activities, where funds go towards buying food and keeping the building running and in good condition.
Other fundraising activities that the centre hosts include line dancing and bingo.
“We wanted people to come together, especially the elderly, so that they can mingle, have a laugh, dance and enjoy themselves,” she said.
Strelitzia is a centre for the elderly, and has 1 360 members who can enjoy meals and activities on a daily basis for a small fee.
